Guild of Food Writers Archived Material

The Guild of Food Writers has a longstanding relationship with the Guildhall Library in London.
The Guildhall Library is particularly special as it contains the largest publicly available collection of food books in the country, and, being a local authority-run library, it is open to anyone at any time.

Noteworthy collections within the library include the André Simon Collection, The Institute of Masters of Wine Library, The Elizabeth David Collection, and the collections of many food writers including Arabella Boxer, Evelyn Rose and Christopher Driver.

I have great pleasure in letting you know that The Guild of Food Writers has recently expanded its collection held within the library, to include all GFW archived material. This was unveiled at our event at the Guildhall Library last week, together with an exhibition of some very special pieces of work held within the archive. There is a wealth of Guild of Food Writers history held at the Guildhall now, including material relating to the formation of the Guild, event guest books, photographs, back copies of newsletters and so much more.  We do hope you may take the opportunity to have a look on a future visit.

I’d like to thank Joy Skipper and Jane Suthering for their help in making this happen.
