Charlotte Shore

'm Charlotte, I'm British and I live and work in Hong Kong. After ten years working in corporate PR and ghostwriting on behalf of senior spokespeople in B2B sectors, I made the switch to food journalism full time last year. It had always been a passion of mine to be a lifestyle and culture journalist and my love of food, food shows, and food culture is something that's evolved since leaving university - and so felt like a natural fit. After completing a Food Journalism course with Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, in March last year (and scoring 96% / a Distinction), I started a food blog on Substack on the Hong Kong food scene. I then set about establishing an editorial network and pitching out my own work for the very first time in the hope of getting something published. Since then, I've had two paid pieces published in South China Morning Post here in Hong Kong, one other long form piece in Post Mag, also in Hong Kong, an article on Hong Kong coffee culture published and paid for in SOLO Magazine, and an arts and culture piece in Monocle. Now I'm steadily building a portfolio, I'm really beginning to feel like a professional food writer! In addition, I've also done some ad hoc copywriting work for Black Sheep Restaurant Group here in Hong Kong.
