Chef Ahmed Maaref is a British-Moroccan chef, award-winning author and culinary consultant with over 25 years of professional experience across fine dining, including luxury hospitality and Michelin-standard kitchens. Classically trained in French gastronomy, he brings together Moroccan culinary heritage with refined French and European techniques.
He is the author of Unveiling the Flavours: My Secret to Moroccan Cuisine, awarded Best in the Best , African Food Culture Book in the World at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2025. His work explores Moroccan and North African cuisine, culinary heritage, authenticity and its contemporary interpretation internationally.
Ahmed is a member of the Guild of Food Writers and has previous food judging experience as a VIP Judge at the Mediterranean Food & Beverage Expo in London. He has also been accepted onto the Great Taste judging panel for the 2027 season.
Alongside his writing, Ahmed is the founder of Maison-Chef Ltd and Moroccan Tagine Express, working across private dining, culinary consultancy, guest chef projects and food education.
