I’m a second-generation British Bengali whose parents are from Kolkata. As a chef, cookbook author I’ve dedicated my work to celebrating the flavours I’ve grown up with. My journey began with a North East Indian street food business called Raastawala and now more recently I’ve been working on Chef consulting, recipe development, training Executive and Head chefs, hosting masterclasses and finding new ways to bring the regional West Bengali cuisine to a wider audience. This is my way of keeping our food culture alive and sharing it with people who may never have tasted it before and also for people who would like to cook the cuisine authentically.
