Born and bred Londoner Sophie Farrah is a freelance food, drink and travel journalist and editor based in SW London. She is the Food & Drink editor for Sheengate’s fleet of luxury lifestyle magazines in which she produces a monthly page that covers a multitude of topics, from chef and producer interviews to restaurant and product reviews, round ups, recipes and more. She is also the editor of Sheengate’s flagship titles, The Richmond Magazine and The Barnes Magazine.
Sophie also specialises in food-focused travel within the UK and is never happier than when exploring the country in search of terrific local cider, artisanal cheesemakers, or the very best crab sandwich. She is contributing editor at luxury travel titles British Travel Journal and Dream Escape Magazine, in which she writes regular food and drink-focused area guides (most recently on Somerset, Edinburgh, Penzance, and the Isle of Skye) as well as hotel and restaurant reviews and chef/producer profile pieces, often writing about the sense of place that food can create. She documents her various trips on Instagram at instagram.com/sophiefarrahwrites.
Sophie has proudly joined the Guild of Food Writers to discover and connect with people within the industry, explore new possibilities, and hopefully contribute her enthusiasm for food and drink.
She is also very excited to have joined the Great Taste judging panel in 2025.
