Many of my family members were stock farmers and I grew up absorbing their love of the land and respect for real food. As a professional writer for more than 40 years, I've covered a wide range of subjects from corporate affairs to design, horticulture and many different aspects of food and drink. In 2007 though, when my husband first began keeping bees, my attention turned in their direction .... and got stuck there. Bees/honey/pollinators/sustainable farming and other topics related to the food chain have now become my primary areas of interest for writing and speaking. I am one of the UK's very few professional Honey Sommeliers and the author of a trilogy examining the role of pollinators in food production, the impact of industrialised farming on wild pollinator species and how we can all support these vital creatures.
