Petty Elliott is an Indonesian author, chef, and consultant based in the UK. She has pioneered a modern approach to Indonesian culinary traditions through cookbooks, cookery classes, newspaper columns, and magazine articles for over 20 years, both in Indonesia and the UK.
Her book, The Indonesian Table, published by Phaidon in 2023. Her new book, The Indonesian Vegetarian Table, was out last April 2026. Petty has served as a judge for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants and The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. She is also a member of the Guild of Food Writers.
Her current project is as a culinary consultant for Bejana, the Indonesian restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Bali, where she is developing a new menu that celebrates bold, colourful local ingredients with a modern twist.
