Angela’s focus is the future of food. A government adviser, food tech mentor and industry consultant, she’s here to shake things up. Obesity, older people’s diets, filling the skills gap – her goal is to find innovative solutions to the challenges we face as a society.
After qualifying as chartered accountant with KPMG Angela trained as a classical chef at the world-famous Leith’s School of Food and Wine and has recently completed an MBA from the prestigious Imperial College Business School in London. As an entrepreneur she built a deli business and multi-site Asian cookery school and is now a sought-out industry strategy consultant working globally with various SME & blue-chip hospitality, retail and leisure companies.
In 2017 Angela was appointed to the London Food Board, advising Mayor Sadiq Khan on the future food habits of people who live and work in the capital and in 2019 she was invited to join the prominent WiH2020 Diversity in Hospitality Travel & Leisure Advisory Panel devoted to increasing women’s representation and diversity as a whole in leadership positions.
Angela is an international key note speaker, a regular panellist on BBC Radio4’s The Kitchen Cabinet and is frequently invited by ITV and Channel 4 to share her insights into the food industry. She is also the first Indian woman to appear on BBC2’s Great British Menu.
