Honor May Eldridge is the author of The Avocado Debate, which looks at the social and
environmental history of the avocado and was published by Routledge in 2023. She is currently writing Fork in the Road: The Future of Food to be published by Bloomsbury in 2026 and another untitled book on food resilience for Routledge to be published in late 2026. She is also currently the Senior Legislative Advisor to the Food Standards Agency, the regulatory body for food safety in the UK. She is responsible for primary legislation and its journey through
Parliament.
Honor was previously a food systems consultant, working primarily to advise NGOs and
businesses in the agriculture and food retail sectors. Her areas of focus include UK agriculture
policy, international agrifood trade. She has written a series of parliamentary briefings, media

For Life. She is a participatory boardmember of both Bristol Food Producers and the Organic
Research Center. She was previously Head of Policy for the Sustainable Food Trust, worked on
post-Brexit policy at the Soil Association, was Chair of GM Freeze and was the Legislative and
Government Affairs Coordinator in Washington D.C. for the Center For Food Safety. A full list of
