Millie Milliken

I am a spirits, cocktail and bar writer with over 10 years of experience in publishing. Based in London, I have spent the last four years building up my freelance career and alongside my regular writing work (which spans both trade and consumer publications) have also worked on some very exciting projects: launching The Drinks Trust charity's Drinks Community, editing 'Bubbles: A Guide to Carbonated Cocktails' book from the Crossroads Bar team, spearheading Maison Assouline's 'Swans Bar' book, and helping to launch non-profit organisation the OurWhisky Foundation. I am passionate about making the often complicated and intimidating world of spirits (especially whisky) more accessible to consumers through my writing - next year I will have my first book published - 'Tequila: A Tasting Course'. I'm also dedicated to showing that working in spirits and bars can be rewarding career paths, especially for women.

I am also the director of Wet Ink, my events, tastings, content and partnership company which I launched this year. I aim to bring spirits to consumers from unusual angles and this year have delivered a lineup on talks about spirits in the context of cowgirls, mermaids and (this November) witches.
