Simi Rezai-Ghassemi

Dr. Simi Rezai-Ghassemi is an expert in the foodways of Turkic Eurasia, a region often regarded as a cradle of both culinary and cultural civilization. As a food anthropologist, educator, and gardener with a PhD in evolution, she explores the intersections of culture, ecology, and lived culinary practice. Fluent in the major languages of the region, Simi combines ethnographic research with hands-on experience to illuminate the seasonal culinary traditions of Turkic Eurasia, tracing how they continue to influence the foods we eat today.
