I am an author (Wine Law and Policy: From National Terroirs to a Global Market) and editor specialising in food ethics, identity and the broken food system. My work has been published in several international publications, including The National UAE and publications in the UK, Spain, and Australia. Currently, I am the Editor and Campaigns & Partnership Manager at FoodUnfolded, an EU-funded platform and magazine that asks the hardest questions about our food system. FoodUnfolded is a project of the European Institute of Innovation, with a community of 87+ thousand people.
For the past year, I have been working on the "Naughty Bites" podcast, asking experts about sustainability, provenance, food identity, and climate change. From tackling food policy and food identity to the creative solutions that are feeding the world and helping the environment, I have been speaking with chefs, PR advisors and CEOs who have been trailblazers in their respective industry.
My food career has also led to interviews with BBC Radio Leicester and Tim Maddams about topics such as reconnecting people with food, localism and communities, counter cuisine, and my insights into the food industry.
Further, I have worked as a consultant for the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT), and the European Food Information Council (EUFIC) to FoodUnfolded across Europe on topics pertaining to food sustainability, innovation in agriculture, COVID-19, and climate change in agriculture. With an academic background in both food and sustainability, and a passion for wine and olive oil from the Mediterranean, my writing and spoken word have been dedicated to tackling and aligning the planet and people by creating better agrifood ecosystems, as the world faces some major challenges when it comes to feeding an ever-increasing world population in a sustainable and healthy manner.
