Jane Peyton

Hello, I am a drinks educator, events producer, writer, broadcaster, pub expert, and public speaker. In 2008 I founded the School of Booze – an education, consultancy, and events company specializing in alcoholic drinks. One of my favourite things is hosting food and beer or cider matching events and changing people's perceptions of what to drink when dining. Seeing people's faces when they eat a selection of desserts matched with beer and enter a state of nirvana is a joy! Beer, cider, and gin are my specialities, and I was UK’s first accredited Pommelier (cider sommelier), was Beer Sommelier of the Year, and am a former Drinks Educator of the Year. In 2015 I instigated Beer Day Britain, the UK's national beer day (annually on June 15th). For my beer work I was awarded a Lifetime Achievement from Britain’s Parliamentary Beer Group. My published books include ‘Drink: A Tippler’s Miscellany’, ‘Beer o’ Clock’, ‘The Philosophy of Gin’ and ‘The Philosophy of Beer’. I am also the author of Fabulous Food Shops, and Pub Scene - coffee books about the interior design of food shops, and pubs. I am the Drinks Ambassador for the Love British Food organization, and co-host of the Food Talk Show podcast.
