What is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and why is it so important?

Attracting visitors to your website and web pages can be a challenge, particularly if you’re unsure where to start. In this professional development workshop, Jasmine Lee, SEO Executive at Kayo Digital, a digital partner to SMEs in the South East, will talk through Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and how to optimize the content of your articles for the web.

Jasmine will be outlining the basics when it comes to SEO, and the small but simple improvements you can make to your content and web pages to get them seen on Google (and other search engines too).
Once the session is over, Jasmine will be available to answer questions from Guild members. The workshop will be recorded for the Guild’s YouTube channel.

Kayo Digital is the acting web partner for the Guild of Food Writers. The agency is working alongside the Guild to help with ongoing website maintenance and initial changes.

Disclosure: The Guild of Food Writers has commissioned Kayo to undertake some work on the Guild's website, following a detailed review of suppliers. The Guild is therefore a client of Kayo Digital, who have kindly offered to run this workshop for us free of charge when approached by our Events team who have been looking at running professional development sessions for members. The GFW would like to confirm that this workshop is not linked to the paid-for work in any way.

All of the Guild's current sessions are taking place through Zoom. Please email Guild administrator Jonathan Woods to register and Jonathan will then send you details of how to access the events on Zoom.
