New Member: Di Murrell

Di came somewhat late in life to food and cookery writing and is now happily making up for lost time. Last year saw the publication by Prospect Books of her first book Barges & Bread which Gourmand World Cookbooks Awards named UK 2017 winner of their Culinary History category. Di’s second book, due for publication later this year, is written in an altogether lighter vein (no footnotes for a start) and is the culinary story of her travels by barge on the inland waterways of France. As someone whose primary enthusiasms are inland boating and food and cookery and who, nowadays, spends most of each year in her hovel in darkest Burgundy, Di writes about both these interests, ‘mixing and matching’ the two, livening it all up with a bit of a French twist.
