Be Kassapian

I am a cookery teacher, demonstrator and nutritionist in training, with a passion for nutrition, health and vitality. I have been running my small cookery school for seven years and am now concentrating on three areas as my career develops for the future: teenage/DofE courses (also online), my three year naturopathic nutrition course with CNM and private clients. I also tach and demonstrate at Leith’s School of Food & Wine to keep up to date, mostly Saturdays. Historically, I trained at Leith’s at 18 ears, worked as a chef abroad and in UK and was chef management trainee with Roux Restaurants Ltd for 2 years (circa Gordon Ramsay at Le Gavroche while I briefly passed through). I set up and ran two restaurants in a 5* health club in the city, then returned to Leith’s to teach. Before leaving for family life I co-wrote Leith’s Seasonal Bible and also put together the book for Chef’s School, a TV series. Family life – 3 children, now nearly all adult. Along the way I gained a DTLLS (PGCE) in teaching and set up my cookery school from home – Be in the Kitchen (beinthekitchen.co.uk). This has provided a very creative background and I have run all sorts of different courses over the years. My passion for health began at least 5 years ago as exhaustion crept in and as a result I developed my Vitality group to support local people to feel better. This is now on hold while I take nutrition seriously and qualify as a naturopathic nutrition practitioner. I’m very excited about the next phase of my career.
