Sam Bilton is a freelance food writer and cook specialising in food history. She writes a food blog called Comfortably Hungry and also runs a historically themed supper club called Repast in Sussex. She was the Food & Drink Editor for a local lifestyle magazine in Sussex for 3 years and is a regular contributor to the English Heritage blog. Her first book on the history of gingerbread (First Catch Your Gingerbread, Prospect Books) was published in 2020. Sam sits on the Guild of Food Writers committee as Co Vice Chair and Awards Coordinator.
