Who’s the masterclass for?

People with a basic working knowledge of Instagram who are interested in learning more about how to use it effectively, especially as a business tool for self promotion.

More experienced users welcome, although we will cover many photographic and editing basics which may already be familiar.
 
What can I hope to gain from the masterclass?
  • How to create powerful images without special equipment or app filters
  • How to enhance photos or make the most of poor shooting conditions
  • How to consider and style food for photography
  • How to create a consistent look and develop your own Instagram ‘brand’
  • How to use Instagram to grow a following
 
Who’s Matt Inwood? Why him?
Matt is a graphic designer and art director, specialising in cookbook design. He has a well established Instagram feed and his following includes high profile food photographers, food writers and chef authors. He has collaborated with many brands and individuals to create content exclusively for their Instagram accounts.

Matt understands the power of Instagram as a marketing and communication tool, but also as a social media channel with huge potential for aesthetic pleasure. He believes it can enhance the way you think and create in the world of food.
 
What will the masterclass comprise?
  • Discussion of phone photography and Instagram basics
  • A practical masterclass element
  • Q&A from the members
 
Participants will need:
  • Their own smart phone (iPhone would be ideal but is absolutely not essential)
  • Working WiFi capability
  • FULL BATTERY! Back-up battery pack or power cable would be advisable
  • A personal Instagram account to which they can publish results on the day
