The Guild of Food Writers campaigns mainly by means of encouragement. Hence we have two sorts of campaign: professional campaigns, by means of which we attempt to set standards on areas such as plagiarism, and competitions open to the public, like Cook It and Write It, which are intended to encourage young people to cook and write about food respectively.

Although in the past we have campaigned on areas such as hospital and prison food, our principal ongoing professional campaigns are on Metrication and Plagiarism, both of which provided us with sufficient information to allow us to publish guidelines for our members and the public.
