Event Information

Guild member Mary Contini has contacted us with news of a special event: ‘I am on the advisory board of an amazing education program, Theirworld, which has been working over the last 10 years to work in areas of war and trauma to create safe schools to get young children, especially girls, into education.

Sarah Brown is the Chair and she has asked me to approach the food writers of the country to invite any that are interested to join us for a breakfast on Thursday 5 March in the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms to celebrate International Woman’s Day (men welcome).

The charity is making enormous strides and has gained vast funding and commitments from countries all over the world.

It is now acknowledged that education, especially of young girls, is one of the main ways global warming and global population can be challenged.

One of the main parts of the education program is self-sufficiency and ability to find and cook healthy food.

I also attach a video which has been launched last month as a message about the work: youtube.com/watch?v=efLMLKSV9dg&feature=youtu.be.’
